THE PORCINI MUSHROOM

THE PORCINI MUSHROOM

Renowned as the "king of mushrooms," the porcini mushroom is one of the most iconic woodland varieties and a favorite among mushroom enthusiasts. This popularity inspired Alexandre Borde, the founder of Maison Borde, to name his first brand "Roi des Montagnes," meaning "King of the Mountains," back in 1925.

Porcini mushrooms are found not only across Europe but also in other regions around the globe. Their growth depends on wooded areas, whether coniferous or deciduous, and the presence of adequate soil moisture. Celebrated for their exceptional culinary versatility and unique flavor, porcini mushrooms are prized not only for their gastronomic appeal but also for their significant nutritional value, making them a staple in many kitchens.
